Hi, I just built my first pc.

gpu - nvidia geforce gtx 650
mobo - asrock z77 pro3
cpu - intel i5 3570k
ram - 8 gb
psu- corsair 430w

I'm running FFXIV which my cpu and gpu more than meet the requirements for however, i'm getting extreme low fps (2-7fps) when i log into the game. my friends said it might be the psu.

all my gpu drivers are up to date as well.

any suggestions?

thanks!

The largest (if not the only) major consumers of current in the +12V rail are the CPU and the GPU. leaving aside 7-8A for safety margin and other components, the 3570k uses 77W (6.4A) and the GPU uses 150( for the 660OC)(12.5A).
That makes a total current of 26.9A on the +12V rail; and the new CX430 PSU has 32A. So plenty of current(although cutting it close for the older model of the CX430 which had 28A).
you can't always watch the "minimum" requirements thing......... but you should be doing better. if you haven't reset the cmos do it. if that doesn't help. uninstall and reinstall the game.......... I would also look for game updates if they weren't automatically installed when you installed the game.

430w for a gtx 660 graphic card that need 140w alone? not counting in motherboard, cpu and such

Use a bit of software like HWMonitor to monitor your CPU and GPU usage. If you notice that one or the other is near 100% and you are getting crap frames there's the problem, although by the sounds of it I suspect its more software than hardware where the issue is if other games are fine.
