hello,

I am looking to get a new router with IPTV support but my ISP is only offering Wireless routers with the service, i get dizzy and headaches and nausea from the radio signal emitted by wireless routers so i was wondering is there a way to shut down the wireless radio signal from the router and use it simply like a normal wired router?

thanks

Solution
Most (almost all) wireless routers have a way of shutting down wireless either through a button on the router and/or through setup software. It would be best to check its user manual before buying though.

You will need to contact the supplier of the router, but I imagine that you should be able to find one that you can shut it off.

Why not buy a wired router that is compatible? They should be fairly standard.
Some ISP's will give you a discount on your monthly bill if you use your own equipment.

Failing that, disconnect the antenna.
Possibly cover the router with a metal screen to suppress any signals.

You can always wear a tinfoil hat :)

Jokes aside you have a couple options

1) turn off the wireless
2) buy a wired router, they should be pretty cheap
3) depending on how you have your house/equipment setup you could use ICS (Internet connected sharing)
4) unscrew/ripout the antenna

I take it you have to live out in the wilderness or something to limit the number of headaches? I live in the city and there's atleast 15 wireless signals around me at all times.
