So I am planning to get R9 270x(requires a 500w PSU), but I need to upgrade my PSU. Should I go with Corsair VS550 (I measured the dimensions and it should fit) or some else?

My current rig
CPU: i3 3220
GPU: HD 7770
RAM: 8GB
MOBO: H61M-P31
1x 1TB HDD
1x DVD-ROM

PSU: Crappy IN-WIN 450W

The vs550 are the lower end corsair series which is suited for home/office use. I would recommend the xfx core edition 550W, good quality and can perform well beyond its capacity, made by seasonic to

Radeon R9-270X - requires 24 Ampere on +12V rail and a 500W PSU minimum.

And stay away from VS or CX or RM series of Corsair.

Does it need ~30A with two +12V rails combined?

Stay away from OCZ, they filled for bankruptcy, so you will not be able to get warranty on their products.

Is there any problem with my linked PSU ?
