hello everyone, we ass the thread tittle says.. i'm looking for a new PSU.

my old psi * MS-N750-VAL * basically caused my pc to restart.. and i found out that the psu doesn't deliver the power it needs. apparently this psi isn't worth at all so i am not going to let the person who sold it to me give me a free one again.

now i am not very very familiar with psu' s and these kind of stuff so i hope i can get a little help from you guys.

this is my system at the moment.

7770 2GB
FX-(8x 3600 MHz)
m5a97
2 corsair veangance 4gb

and the rest...

what would be a good psu for around 50 euros to get this running smoothly?

Thanks allot!

thanks for the fast replies guys, i'm a total noob in this, but i would guess the psu is for supplying the whole pc right? for the cpu, cpufan, everything in the pc.. but would that 430 watt be enough for the whole system??

if any of you guys could give me a little short explanation i'd really appreciate that.

since the person just trew that bad psi at me i want to make sure i get a good one so i won't have to worry about the pc shutting down on me again :)

once again thanks for the fast reply guys!

The psu will have connectors for the cpu, motherboard, graphics cards hard drives plus some extras.
The recommendations will include typical parts.
Most of them use little power; it is the graphics cards that are the gating factor.
Here is a nice chart:

Sure. According to AMD/ATI the recommended power for your system with One 7770 video card is a minimum of 500 watt for system power with a minimum of (only) 19Amps on the +12V rail. The PSU I listed has 34 amps on the +12v; This is enough to power your video card with power/current left over for the rest of your system. Fans draw tenths or hundredth of an amp, your CPU is verily efficient and will rarely run at 100%, and Hard drives and RAM don't take much.
Various seller, perhaps all, usually recommend a bit more power than will ever be need for their cards so the 450 should run your system very well, and for a long time; and it has a 5 year warranty.

I'm going to go with the psu you suggested m8
but how would this psu do if i was going to over clock the graphics card or cpu not that i would need it at the moment, but it might be handy to know :)

Depending on how much of an overclock you did. That 450 has some spare power, but won't leave much headroom for any kind of serious overclock. Your budget, however, is going to be the limiting factor to stepping up to a 550-650watt PSU.
And yes, it would be nice to be able to put a quality 750 in the system and overclock like crazy; but IMHO that kind of OC creates lots of heat and ultimately shortens the life span of all the equipment.
Here's the next step up:

XFX ATX 550 Power Supply - P1550SXXB9
by XFX
4.4 out of 5 stars See all reviews (20 customer reviews)
RRP: £49.99
Price: £48.99 & this item Delivered FREE in the UK with Super Saver Delivery. See details and conditions
http://www.amazon.co.uk/XFX-ATX-550-Power-Supply/dp/B00...

That's about 59 Euros.
Here's a Newegg link with a few more details.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
This provides 10 more amps then the 450, so you could OC a tad more, or feel more secure about OCing.

Thanks allot for the information Nostall! i probably won't be over clocking it at the moment.. ill let the graphics card fan run on 60/65 % but i'd go for a nice 750 later in the future if i'm going to have a nice over clock but that won't be the case now, but just to be sure I'm gonna go for the 550W :)
now i've order the psu and i want to install it myself.. i guess ill be a bit confused with the cable of the psu but i guess I'm gonna be alright!

just one more last quick question, how come the xfx 550 watt can handle this system but that my previous psu that was 750 watts couldnt?

this is what i am seeing at the moment: +3.3V -> 3.264V / +5V -> 5.078V / +12V 11.840V @ CPU 36C MB 30C

theres also one +VDDA @ 2.508V

Thanks once again everyone :)
