Hi,
I am trying to re-install windows 7 in my XPS L501X Laptop. I got a DVD of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit with the package but it seems to be damaged. While going for re-installation, the DVD player can't read files from it.
Can anybody tell me how to get a duplicate DVD?

You can download a copy from here and burn to disk:

http://www.shayatik.com/2013/03/download-windows-7-sp1-official-iso-from-digital-river/

Select the appropriate .iso file and burn to DVD with burning software (use option "burn image to disk")

You'll need the product key to activate, which should be on a sticker on the underside of the laptop.

Is your laptop's system recovery partition intact though? If you press F8 on bootup you should see an option at the very top "Repair your Computer" which will lead to a set of options including Dell Recovery. This would restore the full factory default installation (just as it came out of the box).
