Hey guys upgrading my system... here are the current specs.

Currently running:
5970 at stock
4 gig of Ripjaw 1600
Gigabyte GA-P55-US3L Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard
Intel Core i5 750 2.66GHz (Lynnfield) @ 4.1

Bought a 290, so currently just looking for some ram and an SSD (although going to go for a samsung one)

Could I add another 2x2 ripjaw to what I have or would it be easier to buy a new kit?

Something reasonably priced, looking for bang per £££
Thanks

Yes it should be okay, but there is no guarantee as anytime you mix ram it "might" not work never run into that problem myself but the forums are littered with folks who havn't been as fortunate... of course they usually buy something "close" to the same b/c its cheaper...

nope it wont' affect anything you've got going on, as long as its the same ram it "should" work together, there is always a chance the new ram won't play well with the old ram, but I bet you can get it to work. If you want to be certain just buy a 2x4gb kit

so the general concensus is if I find the same ram I already have (I found some on ebay for £35 del) it should be ok, but theres always a chance it won't so to save hassle just buy some new ram?
