I currently have a gtx 570 and i'm upgrading to a 780 ti.Big step i know. But i currently connect with 2 6 pin PCIE power connectors but have two extra 2 pins connectors. My new GPU requires a 8 and a 6 pin PCIE Power Connectors. So my question is can a use a 2+6 pin as a 8 pin in the same slot or will i need to consider purchasing new cables or a PSU to make this work.

Thank You

Yes you can use the 2+6 pin as the 8 pin in the same slot that's coming from your psu and the other 6 pin
If you have a good quality psu that meets the power requirements you are good to go.

The 2+6 Pin connectors can be used as an 8pin.

The power requirements for a 780Ti are 42Amps on the 12V rail and 600W PSU.
Generally the 6+2 connector cables are what all PSU's have. So in that sense you should be fine.

What PSU do you have now?

Coolermaster are't exactly the best psu's around , you might be pushing it, you would be better off upgrading that psu to a better quality product , like a Corsair, Enermax, Antec for example and aiming for a higher wattage to have some headroom for overclocking and other components

I would get an XFX Core Pro 650W psu for that.
