My computer boots up fine but all of my USB and mouse/keyboard ports aren't working.

I can't use mouse or keyboard at any point during boot. My cd drive works and my computer boots fully. But I can't access anything with both peripherals unusable.

Two of my USB devices get power but they are unresponsive. My ps2 mouse isn't even gettin power. Also when I power down the computer automatically restarts. The computer was clean. Even had bloat ware removed. This just happened this morning.

Just joined so I just posted as an answer so i don't know if you got my responses or not. My USB devices appear to have power but now functionality.

I have a ps2 mouse but no keyboard, but they mouse doesn't light up at all when plugged in.

I was away when this happened, but apparently, the usb device not recognized error came up a few times before it stopped working all together. That's when they powered it down

So I can boot my computer, open and close the disc tray, the fans are operating normally, and I am connected to the network, but I can't move my mouse or type anything. So fixing any drivers or going into bios is apparently not an option..

I am assuming that my only other option is to lead the HDD into another computer, and attempt a fix from there.

But if I have another option, I would rather go with something a little easier.

My problem appeared to be a blown capacitor somewhere on the board.
