At what price should I consider a pc over laptop for gaming?

I need a new computer and have been torn between getting a laptop or building a pc. I know pc's get better performance/price overall, but I was wondering if there was a particular price level where people find that getting a laptop just isn't really worth it compared to a pc anymore. For instance I couldn't imagine getting an AW 18 since at that point it is basically a desktop anyways.

I suppose a way to answer this would be to say that at the €500 euro mark(ish) you can get a video card with your desktop where the laptop still uses the gpu chip section of the cpu.
That would be the biggest jump I suppose.

But yeah, Deskptop > laptop for gaming throughout the entire price range. Building an AW18 equivalent in a desktop should cost about 60% of an AW18.

In my opinion, there is never a reason to go with a laptop over a desktop for gaming. It takes far too much money to get a laptop that will run any new game fairly well. Friend just bought a new "gaming" laptop for $1k and can barely run BF4 on low. Whereas a desktop could push high/ultra with 1k.
