Which temperature do I believe? On idle temperature under AMD A10 5800k on HWMonitor sits around 50-60 degrees celsius. Wouldn't the pc shut down before the 99 degrees due to overheat protection?
yes, but i guess it can't read the temps guess the cpu isn't supported yet - could explain also why hwmonitor is all over the place... what about amd overdrive in the vision center or whatever they call the catalyst lately?

Oops accidentally clicked as best answer sorry. http://
AMD overdrive shows these temps which differs ultimately from HWMonitor?
even with the readings all over the place the cpu will reduce speed/shut down if close to the limit so there's nothing to worry about. i'd say to give it a while until the hwmonitor, coretemp and bios es get updated for them properly.

No worries thanks for the help it was much appreciated! These temps - http://
are during the prime 95 stress test and the temps continued to rise to about 45 degrees celsius on amd overdrive, whereas on HWMonitor the temperature readings displayed 91. Great to know the issue was with HWMonitor and not the actual processor itself overheating. Thanks again for the help!
