Hello Tom's Hardware community. I came here with a very simple question: is there any performance/quality degradation between using a 4770k (not planning on overclocking much for either SKU) and a Maximus VI Formula, and using a 4930k and a Rampage IV Black Edition when gaming, heavy multitasking and some personal server stuff. (just a proxy tunnel and some over-the-air system controls and stuff) I don't plan on having more than 2 video cards (I believe that spending more money on a single/two cards is better than buying 4 moderate ones) and I also don't plan on having more than 4 (max) storage drives.

Well if you're doing heavy multitasking and hardcore editing/rendering, then you'll see a considerable difference between those CPUs, and the 4930k has more overclocking potential. However, I'd go for the 4770k/Formula combo, because it is also very good at those tasks and much much cheaper. Resuming, if you want pure performance, go for the 4930k, if you want a good price/performance relation, go for the 4770k
