Overclocking with ASUS Autotune

I recently upgraded my PC to an ASUS Z87-A motherboard along with an i7 4770k @ 3.5GHz and was looking to overclock, something I've never done before.

I looked around ASUS Suite III and found the autotune overclocking feature they have. I researched on it a bit and then decided to try it for myself. I clicked the "Fast" option and my PC restarted. Upon restart, a window opened up several minutes after boot and showed it increased by 0.00%. At first I wasn't sure whether or not it was successful and figured maybe the number was just wrong. I looked at CPU core speeds and saw them around 4.2MHz, but I'm not too sure if that means it was successfully overclocked.

Can someone walk me through an easy and safe way to overclock my CPU? I'm completely new at this stuff and I'm not looking to go big on this. I don't need 4.5GHz, just something higher than 3.5GHz would be nice considering my processor is unlocked.

Thanks!

Can I get some help on this? I seem to be running my CPU frequency around 4.2MHz when in games. However, my CPU temps are getting up a bit, sometimes around 65 degrees Celsius, which seems to be a lot. Should I try tuning it down a bit? And if so, how?
