cpu over heating

I have a amd 3400 BE my cpu temp was at 100 c so I bought a new cpu fan. It is now at 60 how cani lower it. I have only one exhaust fan and the cover is off. Should I put the cover back on. It is sitting ina desk with the front and rear open and1 1/2 inches clearance on both sides. Any help would be great

You can go into the bios and under volt it(not recomended) or under-clock it. Also you can put more voltages into your cooler.

you replaced the fan ? did you use a can of air and or vacume to clear out the dust from the air cooler?

You can get a new COOLER, not just a fan, reroute wires, and add more airflow. One fan is nowhere near enough.

I bought a new bigger cpu cooler and fan. it is sitting around 59 Cel idling just internet running. Should i put in a newer exhaust fan and put the sides back on the case.

Yes, put in as many fans as you can get in there. Or like 2-3 more.

i have 1 80 mm fan and a 120 mm fan and one 80mm fan exhaust i am stting at 55 C at idle. don't know what else to do. I don't know if i am in the right temp range or still to high.

For idle that is very high. 80mm fans tend to be pretty bad case fans, I suggest replacing them with 120mm fans and getting a Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo.

go through and make sure your heat sink is tightened as far as you can go with out over torquing the screws. did you re apply thermal paste?
