Hey All,
I put together a PC back in late 2011 and thought that its time to upgrade, problem is, i don't know what or where to start.
My budget is £500 but I'm not sure what i can get for that, iv not looked into any tech since 2011.
My CPU is an i5 2500k @4.5, Gigabyte Z68A-D3-B3 (Socket 1155) Motherboard and a GTX 560Ti GPU. Id assume that it'd be time to upgrade the GPU mainly because recently iv been starting to feel the heat (literally) when i play newer, more intensive games.
My main worry is if i do upgrade my GPU, will it fit in my Case (Haf 912), Will my CPU Bottleneck the newer GPU? Will it even fit onto my motherboard? iv only done this once and i cant find any help on whether certain cards fit my Mobo, or Case.
Anyone shed some light? Asked on other forums but didn't get much help.

Thanks.

Yes. No. Yes.
The HAF 912 is a roomy case, don't worry, even a GTX 780ti fits.
No, the i5 2500k won't bottleneck the GPU, it's still pretty powerful, very close to an i5 4670k
And yes, it will fit your motherboard perfectly
With £500, you can get a nice GTX 780 and upgrade some other components, such as the PSU, RAM, or even getting an SSD if you don't have one. Here's the 780: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-n780tf3gd5oc

Your 2500K is still a tier 1 gaming CPU especially at 4.5Ghz.

No need at all to upgrade it. The 560 Ti is getting a bit old though. With the 2500K you are good for any graphics card on the market including GTX 780 Ti Sli/R9 290X Crossfire if you can afford it.

The Haf 912 will fit any card on the market.

If you play at 1920 x 1080 I recommend a GTX 780 or an R9 290. You will need a quality 600w power supply for the 780 and 650w power supply for the 290. The cards are roughly equal in performance but the R9 290 is supposed to be cheaper but they have jumped in price lately. The AMD card also has a terrible cooler right now and aftermarket cards are just hitting the market. That might even drive up price more.

I have an EVGA GTX 780 Superclocked with the ACX cooler paired with my 2600K at 4.5Ghz and I can max every current game at 1920 x 1080. The 780 Ti is the fastest card on the market but it might be out of your price range. It's $650 here in the US but I think with the huge VAT you guys pay it's roughly 650 pounds too.

Thanks for the info, my PSU right now is 650W Gold, i wasn't sure if I'd need to upgrade that as well but its definitely something I'll look into. the MSI 780 is the exact card I'm looking at, again thanks for the help!
