Turtle Beach DSS help!

I have the Turtle Beach P11 for the PS3 and the DSS.
I connected everything right but the DD light doesnt light on the DSS. Only the PLIIX light comes on. Which means that im not getting 7.1 surround sound.

Also, not all video games support dolby surround, so even if you have it selected in PS3's audio options, it may not light up anyways depending on the game

Question, I don't have the DSS yet, can it only give you 7.1 surround with dolby formats?
