Macbook Pro GPU Question

Hello I am investing in a MacBook Pro 15" with retina display and the nvidia GeForce GT750M GPU. I would like to simultaneously connect the laptop to a UHD monitor via the built-in HDMI, and then connect two 1080p monitors via the two thunderbolt/mini displayport ports (with VGA adapters).

I have a problem, however. Apple's website states this:

"Dual display and video mirroring: Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 2560 by 1600 pixels on up to two external displays, both at millions of colors"

So I understand that if I would like to display to my monitors and my laptop screen simultaneously I'll need a USB GPU, but if I close the lid of my laptop and just use the 3 monitors is that a possible workaround?

Thank you very much for your help!

I did the math and my total pixels with the lid open are: 10,560 x 6,120
7,680 x 4320 with lid closed

The maximum amount of output is 5,120 x 3,200 with the lid open

So in theory if the lid was closed the maximum output would be 8,000 x 4,800 which would be good!

But can any of you tell me if this is true in real life or just on paper?
