Crucial m4 SSD update problem

Hi basically i'm having the same problem as this guy had http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/280087-32-error-loading-missing-windows-failed-start-0xc000000f
and i think the problem might be the ssd because on version 009 (which i'm on) the computer freezes every hour after about 5000 hours of use with the ssd. The problem i'm havingis that when i download the update from crucial and then click on the update button the program becomes unresponsive the mouse is constantly stuck on loading, then when i click anywhere on the screen it freezes after a second, i reinstalled windows but the same thing happens

Is the SSD you are running the OS drive. If so, I recommend performing the flash on another system.

You may need to set the system to IDE mode for the flash as well. This is more easy if you have a board with 2 sets of sata controllers so the IDE setting does not mess with the systems main drive.

i updated the ssd using a usb and boot from the usb, that worked and i wen to the windows 8 reinstall page, i deleted the hard drive but i couldnt press next to install windows so i turned it off and on and when booting from the ssd it says 'disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter' probably because i didnt reinstall windows 8, so then i try and boot from the usb but it says 'the boot doesnt contain valid information for the operating system'
