What's up guys, I just finished building my first computer after a long 3 hours, only to find out that my display won't work. I've tried different ram slots, making sure everything's plugged in tight (including the graphics card) I've tried using an HDMI and DVI connection, I've also tried resetting the BIOS. I also noticed that although I have my computer speaker plugged in correctly, there is no beep when I turn on the computer. The fans however seem to start really quick, die down, and then start up again. If I didn't mention already, the fan on my graphics card is running fine, there is just no display.

Here's a link to my Zotac GTX 650 TI Graphics Card:

I've tried another graphics card as well, still had no display.

Here's an aerial view of my Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 MOBO

I'm seriously frustrated and stressed about all this, I really really appreciate any help guys, I really just want to get her up and running. Thanks,

Kyle

I feel for you man, computer's not posting is the worst. Could you show me your full build specs? I have a few hunches as to what it could be, but I can't tell with only the mobo and GPU specs. Just cause the display isn't working, the fact that the fans are stalling means it's probably another part of the system, possibly the Power supply. If not, you may just want to test connections again. And what surface did you build on. You may have discharged static, causing one of the parts to fail in a certain area.

Hope this is somewhat helpful, once I know your full build I can do more though.

Hey man, thanks for taking the time to respond. I built on a cement floor, but I have the smallest hunch that it may be something to do with the static electricity, which I highly hope isn't the case :(.

Here's a list of everything else:

I have covered everything I can in that post, I will try to see the speakers make sound with no ram installed.
I'm beginning to think it may have been exposed to static.

EDIT: I tried running the system without any ram installed, and still no beeping sound. I tried installing the speaker plug in 2 different ways, still nothing. Could it be a problem with my MOBO?

The problem very well may be your Motherboard. This is sadly where my expertise begins to fade. Hopefully I have helped some, and hopefully these gentlemen can take over and help you.

Sorry I couldn't help more.

When I slightly disconnect the CPU power supply and turn on the computer, the graphics card fan seem to run normally, but when I plug the CPU power cord all the way in, the fan seems to barely run.

I know this, probably the Power supply. Failing or maybe being overused.

When you checked the other page, did you go as far as to run the board on its package? Just in case you have a stand or other object off under the board causing issues.

I have never seen strange things happen with power half plugged in.

I know you said you enured everything is plugged, that did include the video cards power since it needs power as well.

It becomes harder to diagnose things like this over the internet. You do not have another system to test parts like the memory and video card on do you?

I've verified it the video card was plugged in snug and also I've used to 2 video cards I've tried putting in the computer on the desktop I'm using right now and it works fine, I've also used the same memory in the desktop I'm using now and all worked fine. I can try booting with the motherboard on top of the case, although I think the problem may be somewhere in the power supply.. if I unplug the 24 cpu connector a tiny bit, like still leaving it in, but not all the way, then when I turn it on the graphics card fan spins how it should, then once I plug in the 24 cpu power supply the fan seems to barely spin? it's also a 650w which is more then enough for my build
