Hi, I know this has been asked before in various cases, but the prices tend to vary so I wanted to ask again.
I'm building a new gaming PC and I'm going for the R9 280X as the GPU since I can mine litecoin to recover some of the cost of the computer.
I can get any of the following for £270:
Sapphire Vapor-X OC 3GB
Gigabyte Windforce OC 3GB
ASUS DirectCU II TOP 3GB
or for £300 I could get:
Sapphire Toxic OC 3GB.
So which is the best choice? From what I can see the Toxic is the most powerful card as it has the biggest stock overclock, but this comes with a price premium. Is the difference worth £30?
In addition the Toxic uses more power so might be worse for litecoin mining. Which of the other three cards (for £270) is likely to be the best performing?
EDIT: In addition, I know that popularity among litecoin miners has driven up the costs of these GPUs. Are the prices I've mentioned too high to be worth it? I can get the ASUS DirectCU II OC 2GB GTX 770 for £260.
