Hey guys, first post. I'm stuck here.

I have a windows 8 64bit OS on a lenovo laptop.

Today I uninstalled a 32bit version of Steinberg's Cubase, so that I could immediately reinstall the program in the 64bit version. I had been running 32 bit for reasons we don't need to go into, but now I need 64 bit.

The installation is brief, and claims success and to be finished. When I try to open the application I get a dialogue box, "Windows is searching for Cubase Studio 5 exe, to locate it you can search for it manually"...

The application is NOT in the program files folder where it should be and is on 3 other systems. There is a file that is the same exact file size as the application which is a TMP file? This is seriously bothering me. I fear that windows 8 is confusing me deeply. No problems installing the 32 bit program... what gives?

Please and thanks for any input.

When I right click on the shortcut, a dialogue pops up claiming an invalid target... unspecified location.

When I try to copy and paste a copy of the application file from one computer to another, it turns into a TMP file when I drag and drop it into the Cubase Program file.....
