Is a WIRELESS router available that has four (or more) USB ports (for 2 laser printers, hp g4050 scanner, 2TB backup drive)? These peripherals are in great shape and are very useful. I don't want to spend more $ to get wireless replacements.Thank you in advance for your help sir. I've been following your site off & on for more than 10 years. I have recommended your site to my grandson (11th grade) who is building a gaming PC.

The most I have seen on a router is 2 USB ports.

but take a look at this device

Just a suggestion. You may want to get a raspberry pi and a powered USB hub and use it to connect the drives and printer/scanner and share that on the Ethernet.

I will look into the Hawking router you are suggesting at Newegg. It has 4 USB ports.
Thank you sir.

I bought the Hawking router from the factory last night $65 total. 4 USB 2.0 ports.

26DEC13 - TO EMERALD: Wow! The Hawking Technology HMPS2U works perfectly and it is compact. (It is a server - not a router - I learned something new.) I never heard of Hawking Technology until now - good company. You provided me with a complete solution in just several hours after I posted. I've been wanting to convert my wired printers, scanner, 2TB Seagate backup drive to wireless for years without spending big $ and you quickly guided me in the right direction. TOMSHARDWARE.COM is a valuable, fantastic website. 100 million thanks to EMERALD and Toms Hardware.com.

I researched the raspberry pi because I'm not familiar with it. See my answer to Emerald .

The Hawking Tech HMPS2U print server satisfied my needs for wirelessly connecting my wired USB peripherals. I'm very appreciative of that. The Downside: the ports are 2.0, the software is 32-bit as far as I can determine (that's what Task Manager says), the HP Scanjet G4050 scanner and Seagate FreeAgent Desk 2TB External Drive can only manually connect (the two Samsung Laser printers I have do autoconnect). That said - with ALL peripherals going wireless today, probably its too much to expect a good print server like the Hawking HMPS2U to come along anytime soon upgraded with USB 3.0, EVERTHING autoconnect, and 64-bit software. I believe it ain't gunna happen.
