I have a dell dimension E520 with 3GB ram with nvidia gt galaxy 430 1024mb and pentium D processor with windows 7 home premium 32 bit and I could run some games smoothly on minimum and a lot of others on full lag so I'm throwing ole Bertha in the shed and getting a dell Inspiron I660-3042BK desktop with windows 8.1 and I want to install the nvidia gt galaxy 430 into it would that Change performance FYI I'm not changing my mind on buying a different comp and a new graphics card

You will really see very very little difference in gaming. Since the GT 430 is not only out dated but was a low end card even when it was new.

The "upgrade" on the CPU will be modest at best with it being a i3 so even with games that are completely CPU bound you will not have the power to really run those that well at all. But hey it is your money and as you said you are not changing your mind so buy the computer and put the GPU in it. Who knows the games you play may work just fine on it. Just do not expect to play anything newer than a couple years or so because it just is not going to handle them very well at all.
