one last question, is an optical drive necessary? Or does the case include something that does the job? I think im siding with the Rosewill Challenger case.

The cases don't come with DVD drives, but obviously in many situations you can now use a USB stick to do things.
Considering it is not a large investment, i still find it easier to have one so it is available if you happen to need it.
