Hello,

I'm not sure if the problem i'm facing is really with the MB and i need some help to figure it out.
I got this issue just yesterday after installing new Samsung Evo840 SSD (250GB). I might have caused the problem as i didn't actually check any instruction assuming that i can easily plug in the SSD and it will work. The problem is that my PC will start very slow (before Windows) - the initial ASUS logo stays for too long, then i get a black screen with a blinking dash for a while and then the first Windows loading screen (the black one) which also takes too long and is noticeably struggling. Once i'm past that Windows boots quickly as it should be with the SSD. Once loaded overall i can't notice any significant performance issues, other than that the windows will minimize with lag. Another symptom is that BIOS runs very slow as well - when I open BIOS and do any actions there it runs extremely slow. Also only half of the RAM is recognized by the BIOS (4GB out of a single 8GB stick)
First I flashed the newest BIOS version (2104) from the official ASUS webpage - no change. AHCI is enabled.
Then I though it might be a problem of having Windows installed on my HDD while trying to install another copy on the newly installed SSD, so i formatted the HDD's C: drive and had Windows installed on the SSD only. No change.
I then run the Windows MEM check to see if the RAM went bad for some reason - came back with no errors. Moved the stick to another slot with no change. I also increased the virtual memory on the SSD to 8GB - no good.
I have also unplugged all SATA devices (HDD, SSD, DVD, e-sata chassis connector) from the MB to see if BIOS will boot OK - no good, ASUS logo stays for a minute or two before i get the msg for missing Operating System.

I don't have any spare parts to check one by one and find out if the MoBo is failing, but i'll get my 2x4GB ram stick tomorrow and try those instead of the current single 8GB one.

I believe now that my issue is either a setting i'm missing in BIOS, my RAM stick is faulty or the MoBo is faulty.
I'm looking for advice on how to proceed troubleshooting.

Please find below my PC specs:
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit on the following machine:
MoBo - Asus P8Z77-v Pro
RAM - single 8GB kingston 1600MHz stick (to be changed with 2x4GB Corsair Vengance)
CPU - Intel i5 3570k
GPU - EVGA GTX 650ti sc boost
SSD - Samsung EVO 840 250GB
HDD - WD Cavier black 1TB
PSU - Cooler Master GX 650W

Any help and advises are greatly appreciated!

OMG - I just figured it out... the whole time i had my Logitec f710 gamepad usb connector plugged in with no drivers after reinstalation. I unplugged it and Windows starts in 15sec now, no delays, lags or other issues :)
