I installed my new graphics card and BF3 crashes.

I uninstalled the drivers from the old card (NVIDA GT640) and I installed the newest drivers for my new card (AMD R9 280X) and BF3 crashes for me. I used driver sweeper and stuff already.

check your event logs to make sure it is actually the gfx driver thats causing the issue.
(ctrl panel, admin tools, events, apps or critical)
if it is the driver then a repair install is your best solution as this will replace the HAL (hardware abstraction layer). reason for this is when windows initially boots it loads either an nvidia compatible or amd compatible base driver. if it loads the wrong 1 you will get system instability.
theres 2 ways of doing it , either run the windows upgrade option from the boot dvd or use the repair install from the windows boot.
repair will install a fresh version of windows and is safest. but the upgrade option should allow you to repair windows in place without crating a new windows install or have...

Unless somebody else has experience with this, I would suggest trying to repair windows via the installation media. Switching from Nvidia to amd , tho rare, can cause complete system crashes otherwise.
It may even pay to put a fresh windows install on another drive as primary and try again,
or you could first try the previous driver release for the card.

you can of course take the pro route and manually change the HAL but this isnt for the beginner.

Do you think this happens because I'm having internet issues? Like does BF3 kick you from a game if your internet get's really laggy for a minute? If so that would be the issue. I don't get any error messages.

It's not the driver. I have a theory it's the internet. I will try and play BF3 SP. I will reply when I'm done.

The BF3 does send me back to the browser, but it closes the game without a error. Do I need to update battlelog or something?

Everyone, Thank you for your help. I didn't realize the server I entered kicked for high ping. I can play BF3 on other servers just fine and the SP is working great. Thank you!
