Can I Use a Dell OEM GTX 680 With a EVGA GTX 680?

Hi everyone,

So as of right now I have a single GTX 680 in my system and my girlfriend got me another GTX 680 for Christmas. However, the one she got me is a Dell OEM version. I have yet to get it from her but, I have read places that the Dell OEM cards (NOT specifically the 680 was stated) sometimes don't work with reference cards. I have also read that in the GTX 680's case, that it does not matter. I really am hoping these 2 cards will work together as they are exactly the same otherwise. 2GB VRAM, GTX 680, yatta yatta.. If anyone could clear this up I'd be one happy camper.

Thanks!

Well if it doesnt look at it this way. You could sell em both and have enough for a 290 or a 780.

(but im pretty sure getting a gift then selling it would be pretty rude lol. So its an option but for the sake your gf doesnt get mad id say keep it)

In most cases it should work... BUT, knowing dell and other OEMs they may have disabled SLI.

The best you can do is throw it in and see if it works.
If it doesn't then ur most likely screwed because OEM's like dell have their hardware locked, making it damn near impossible to modify it to work.

Thanks guys. I don't know who to pick as a solution because none are definitive answers haha. I'm gonna be pissed if it doesn't work.. Anyways, thanks for the replies. When I get it this weekend I'll be sure to let you all know. Also, I do have a 1000w PSU so I'm good to go :)
