I'm going to build a new pc, my current pc is not powerful enough to run games on surround. (well its powerful but i have to run games at medium/low settings to make it playable)

Is this enough for surround gaming at ultra in any games ? or should i get another gtx 780 Ti ? (i'm not on a budget) http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/2mJ8k

current specs:

CPU : i5 3470S
MOBO : Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H
RAM : 16gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600
SSD : 256gb Samsung 830 series

First of all, you should buy the 780ti with an aftermarket cooler, like this: http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=03G-P4-2884-KR
It will run cooler and with better...

It will run cooler and with better performance. Now, if you need two... No, you don't, but I'd recommend, because for the most demanding games (Far Cry 3, Crysis 3) you'll get lower frames (20-30). If you SLI, you'll get much better performance

I actually disagree, if I was intending (or considering) SLI on a smaller form factor, I'd definitely stick with the reference Titan cooler models. They are very good for their type, and given how you have to stack the cards close together, they make a lot more sense from an airflow perspective.

As for whether a single GTX780Ti is enough, that really depends what you consider playable. If you try and run 5760*1080 with max settings, a lot of higher end games will definitely drop you into the 20s, but some tinkering with settings can probably get you up to much more respectable speeds. If you want to run especially demanding games at that resolution at nearer to 60fps, even two GTX780Ti will struggle to meet those kind of targets.

Im running nvidia surround with sli super clocked evga 780 ti's and in bf4 with everything maxxed I was getting 100fps but also tons of artifacting...dropped it all to high and runs at the same 100fps avg with zero artifacts...my guess is memory constraints...to my knowledge, when in sli you only get to use the memory of one card...so 3gb in this case...a single titan (or sli if you're rich) mite be able to do it or sli r9 290x(you'll never need to turn on your heaters again).but that's just my experience

As far as a single 1080p I'm sure you can play all games at ultra but metro and crysis mite hit lower fps...but in bf4 and ac4 a single ti will push 2560x1440 no problem

On a side note I never tried vsync while at ultra settings...may have fixed my artifact issue.
