I am new to CPU and BIOS overclocking still, and have never really gone past the base overclock "meaning no need for voltage bumps and what not". My question is what should I do to my voltages after dropping proper multipliers to x8 to achieve proper NB and HT "@ 2000" and lowering ram down as well to achieve 1333 on desired OC, then since the multiplier is locked raising the FSB to 250 is what I want. I do know that with this cpu and air cooling a OC of 4.2+ is poss but I dont desire that out of this chip only a OC to 3.625Mhz. Coretemp says I have a avg of 20c on idle going as low as 17c. So what voltages in my BIOS do I need to change? I am getting a BSOD and I know its in my voltages that is causing this, all the parts are checked and working strong. Stock CPU Voltage is 1.275v

UPDATE: Still hitting snags with the CPU Voltage. Settings same as stated above 14.5x250FSB = 3625mhz core. Slowly went up with it and was freezing on win7 loading logo till 1.4v then the pc just shut down after BIOS with that so I backed it down and lowered my multiplier from stock 14.5 down to 13x with 250FSB = 3250mhz core and started going back up with the volts from there, still having stability issues up to 1.3v should I keep going up? It posted and loaded OS once with these settings and I went to reboot and it froze on the win7 OS logo again.

Ya I see that they are around 1.45 even upwards of 1.55, just didnt know if I should go up from there because the 1.4v right after saving BIOS just shut the whole rig down. I set everything back to locked stock to make sure all was well and went back to it. So in the morning I will try going from 1.4 up to 1.49ish and see what happens. This shouldn't be a horrid OC for this Thuban CPU.

And I am just needing to increase the CPU Voltage in the BIOS right or is there another voltage that will help me here?

Gah I am going to put my head through my desk lol, still hitting screen freezes with Prime95. I did hit 3500Mhz with a FSB of 250 with a multi of 14x, NB at 2250, HT Link at 2000 and ram clocked at stock 1333 with CPU V @ 1.375 and had the NB V up to 1.280. I get booted in and all but Prime is still freezing me up. There for a while I couldn't even get booted in until I raised the NB to 2250 and the CPU Volts over 1.3v. One more thing to note my NB reads 2500 in CPUID and HWinfo if i have it to any setting above the stock 2000, doesn't matter if its set to 2250 or 2180 it reads 2500 in those softwares. I should also add I didn't try to find my max FSB it made it to 250 with a boot so I went with that since its my desired OC zone for this rig.
Guides I am using and reading over among many:

Time to get video editing done then back to the clocks in the early hours. Tradesman1 thanks for everything that you have helped with so far!

As you can see I cant leave this well enough alone. Is there any concern over the Motherboard temp, I am assuming that is the NB? I highlighted the concerned part in red is this maybe a bad sensor if so overclocking ended lol. With all the overclocks I have done the cpu has never reached even the safe 55c yet still topping at around 51c in Prime.

So I think I am finally getting somewhere, Set up at 250FSB with 14x Multi for a 3500mhz core with 1.3v, set the NB to 2500 with a 1.3v the HT and Ram are running at stock HT2000 Mem1333, made it through some small tests like this next is Prime will run for an hour tonight (being I am a pansy that has to babysit his rig) and again in the morning for much longer to see what happens. Ant thoughts on the current settings? The above Motherboard temps mentions have dropped about 12c with these current settings. UPDATE: 30min Prime Test went by with no problems to find my peak temp, 55C max, avg of 52c for this overclock (temps from HWinfo not (Coretemp which shows a 20c cooler reading and is way wrong lol)). Played some games (BF3 way better multiplayer performance) with no problems so going to run a long test in the morning still so i can sit and keep an eye on it.

I ran Prime for an hour this morning and the CPU peaked at 56c in a room with a ambient of 70F/21.1C, so this is looking to be where I am going to leave it for the time being. It has shown a marked performance boost from this 600mhz overclock, will be looking for 3625+ if anyone has any ideas as to what would help me reach it from here.

Ya all I can find is its a touchy toss up on which way to go, about the only way I can see it being really useful is if one or more of your cores are failing you can tweak up and down on the cores to calibrate really high overclocks and or to unlock or turn off extra cores and in the case of my old Phenom II x4 840 it took it from a propus to a deneb with a 6mb l3 cache stable with a small increase on FSB MEM HT and NB with no voltage changes. In my current situation it seems to run a little smoother with it off and I get slightly higher scores with it off. I will have to start a topic about this with all of the different results I am finding as I do this. All stable settings are being saved in the 5 save slots my BIOS has so we shall see where this yellow brick road rolls.

Seems to be the best at the moment with my cooling solution.
Still going to start those new threads, just waiting on my 1up to be born any day now so priorities shifted for a little while.
