Hello Toms,
So I am trying to use a USB mouse with my Lenovo y500 and it wasn't immediately working. It is being recognized in the the device manager as HID-compliant mouse, but it has a little yellow exclamation on the logo, it also says the drivers are up to date. it is using c:\windows\system32\DRIVERS\mouseclass.sys
In the device manager it will appear and disappear when i plug it in to the USB drive so the comp is recognizing the mouse.
Also, I am getting an error saying: Unable to connect the Synaptics Pointing Device Driver.
It then asks to remove the driver and to reinstall any external mouse drivers .
I don't even see the synaptic driver in my mouse options any more, So I now have lost multi touch functionality on the track pad as well as not having a working external mouse. This is so unbelivable how can something as basic as a mouse driver be so faulty... Anyway, any help would be great. This is a known issue on the lenovo y500 and it just seems so ridiculous. My next attempt it to try and enable legacy bios mouse control, but i figured I would ask here in the mean time.
Thanks for any help.
I'm running windows 8 -64
