Hi,

I currently use the Onboard sound on my z77 asus sabertooth. Ive noticed it performs about as good as my old x-fi gamer sound card from Years back (new rig not using this sound card only onboard).

I currently have 5.1 speakers(old Logitech) and a 5.1 headset. I was thinking about getting one of the Asus sound cards with a new headset (currently have the Cool Master Sirus first gen Headset). New Headset is kind of worn after about 1.5 years.

A) Do I need a sound card over my Onboard sound, is there a benefit or absolute reason as to why I should get one?
B) Can you please give a Recommendation for headsets w/mic for gaming purposes.

Thank you all in advance

Todays on-board sound is pretty much good at work, so there's no need to get a sound card. But it will entirely depend on your choice.
