I'm looking at buying the XFX 280X GPU, however on my power supply I have 2 30A 12v rails. I read that the GPU itself requires 42A, would it be okay if it was connected on the 2 rails separately, if that makes any sense?

Thanks.
My current specs are:
CPU: AMD A8-6600K w/ Radeon 8570D graphics
PSU: Storm Silent 700w
RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance
MoBo: Gigabyte F288X-D3H

Solution
having 2 separate 12v rails makes life a bit more complicated. you have to distribute the load evenly between both the rails for the best performance.

if i were you i would have bought a psu with a single powerful 12v rail.

no harm done anyways, just go thru the user guide and follow the instructions carefully about load distribution
