I just built my first computer and I'm pretty sure i did everything correctly, but when i start it up the monitor says no signal.

All the case fans spin, the CPU fan spins, the video card fan spins. The monitor says no signal and there is no post beep.

I've tried taking the video card out and putting it back in a few times. I've also tried removing the memory a few times and still no beep. I hope this isn't something serious like a mobo or CPU problem...

Thanks for any help you can give!!!
Let me know if i should provide you with any more info on my computer

Listing all the hardware would be helpful. Our troubleshooting checklist should help you narrow down what's causing the problem.

It would be helpful to detail the components.

The CPU is supported then. Is there an internal case speaker connected to the motherboard (for beeps)?

Try starting the board outside the case (on its cardbox), only CPU and CPU fan installed. See if any beeps.

I just noticed this now, when I took the motherboard power plug out, one of the metal pieces on the inside is missing (on the plug). Could missing one metal piece be the problem? And if you don't know what I'm talking about is there any way i can post a picture

Now insert single RAM module, start the board and check again the beeps pattern.

Install the graphics card, connect the PCIe cables to it, connect the monitor to the VGA or DVI port, keyboard, mouse and start the board.
