Lots of Compatibility Questions.

I am looking at the ASRock 990FX Extreme3 motherboard and I was concerned about the compatibility with my other parts. I am also getting the Gigabyte R9 270 GPU and I have the FX-6300. I am also planning on getting the Diablotek GAMER SERIES CPA-7630 case, have you heard anything about this case? I am also going to get the Thermaltake NiC F3 CPU fan, I'm not sure if this will even fit. Any input at all is greatly appreciated!

Case supports 13.5 (330mm) video cards. Doesn't give any maximum cooler heights for CPUs.

PCIe 1.0 - 3.0 are cross compatible. Very rarely will there be any problems there with specific video cards they will just run slower on older platforms. PCIe 2.0 at 8x though is plenty for most cards as long as it is an x16 length slot.

Your chosen CPU cooler seems to be of average height, I think that will be fine.

That case is kinda short, seeing that there is no gap between the 5.25 and 3.5 bays. I cant find accurate length specs for the video card to see if it will fit. My 7950 was 12.5" long and required me to get a new case, so I mention that.

All the other parts are compatible.

The GPU is just under 10" long and about 4.5" tall. I have some compatibility problems with my current mobo and my GPU, this mobo does support the R9 270 correct?

I cant find an AMD motherboard with PCIE 3 on it, is it owned by Intel or something? Where would I find out if my GPU will work on the motherboard?

AMD has not produced any chipsets that support PCIe 3.0, so you aren't going to find any. As mentioned PCIe 1.0-3.0 are all compatible with each other, with a few minor exceptions between PCIe 1.0 and 1.1 (power related)

PCIe 2.0 at 16x is more bandwidth then video cards really need. Haven't seen any benchmarking on PCIe 2.0 for the new R9-290 and R9-290X, but I imagine that still remains true. PCIe 3.0 at the moment is just prudent future proofing.
