Hi once again. You have been very helpful with the decision of laptop config, this is my latest dilemma. I have purchased an asus i5 with 8 gb ram which will arrive in the next few days, (I hope), it apparently comes with both win 7 & 8. As stated in an earliest post I'm an older user (66), I do a bit of browsing and research on the Internet and use ms office and publisher 2010. I use this for both administration and also to sync my diary in outlook to my mobiles, but for some reason I use windows mail for my emails.
My question is what would be best for a computer user like myself that is not overly experienced. By the way I don't need it for gaming, sorry I do play sudoku by I don't think that counts.
Your expertise would be greatly appreciated.
Merry Christmas to you all.
Melvin

it honestly should not make that much of a difference. both OS would work well for what you need.

that aside, Windows 8 does present some large changes in the UI, so gatting windows 7 may be an easier transition for you
