i just got a nice new gaming pc so i put it together install windows all works fine. but then i plugged in my ethernet cable and one of the lights did go on (the green one wich means that it has 100 mbits down speed) but the yellow one did not work. when i asked around people told me that i had to install the driver but i have no idea how to get it on my comuputer i could probably take it from my laptop but i dont now where to find it please help me.

it's on the disc that came with the motherboard........ along with other things you should install............ be careful, some of it is unnecessary bloat-ware. when it's installed and you can get on the internet........... go to windows update and install mostly everything.

If its new.. I presume it is gigabit.. but what you got it plugged into? if your router only supports 100mb/s then it does not matter if your new PC is gigabit... 100mb/s is all you will get..
Are you saying/suggesting your laptop got gigabit to the same router? in which case it would support it..
But from your question.. I not sure you really sure..
Normally if you got the drivers to make it work - they would be good enough to support all the speeds that the card supports..
So do check whatever your plugging the other end into.. supports gigabit.
