Graphics card GBs

How many GB do I need for a Graphics card on 1 1080p monitor at or above sixty frames? CPU is a i5 4670k.

  1. depends what gpu you are planning on using. to determine this, we need to know your budget, what resolution you play at, and what power supply you have in your system.

    For pretty much all games 2GB should be enough at 1080p

    Sorry I ment with the graphics card. examples R9 280x 3 GB or a Nvidia Geforce GTX 770 2 GB
  4. to give you an idea, BF4 uses almost 2GB at 1080p, ultra 4xMSAA, but GTAIV tells you how much it need with each graphics settings and it seems to go above 2GB with all max'd out. I think 3GB is the sweet spot currently, so I got 2x 7950 when they were cheap. BF4 on 3 monitors uses 2.75GB.

    Thanks for the quick response. I have a slower PC right now. AMD 6100 6 core, and a AMD HD 7750 1 GB so I have to get a new one soon.
