Hey guys.

As mentioned above, i was looking for a good price - performance nvidia card, since i really want to use the physx from AC4, Batman, Titanfall and the other stuff. And i thought to myself, if the GTX 780 Ti is worth the extra 1/3 of the price from the GTX 780. Sure, it does have a slightly better performance, but does it really explain the 200€ extra money it costs?
Or would i be fine with "just" the normal GTX 780?
Havent found any suitable thread, so im just putting this out now.

As always, thanks in advance guys.

Yes. you will be very pleased with a GTX780 at 1080P resolution.
At 2560 x...

Well, if you want pure performance, get the 780ti, if you want a good price/performance relation, get the 780

Worth is something only YOU can determine.
If you have the funds, I say go ahead and buy the GTX780ti. It is the best single gpu card today.
I have never regretted buying the best, but often had regrets when I bought something cheaper.

That said, if budget is an issue, look at a GTX780 superclock. The factory overclocked units are very strong at a fair markup. Some come with a superior titan style cooler.

Sure, i do want a good price/performance ratio, however does it add up? Are the 200€ extra a worthwhile investion? I mean, the upcoming games will hardly prove a challenge for the GTX 780, since im playing on a 24" monitor, with a resolution of 1920x1080, and i will not upgrade my monitor to 27" any time soon. Is the GTX 780 enough to feed the games out there currently, running on max with 1080p resolution?

Edit : I have been looking at the EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Classified, which seems to be a rather strong GTX 780, coming close to a titan performance-wise. Would that one be enough to max every game at 1080p resolution at a fairly fluid fps (>35-40)?

Yes. you will be very pleased with a GTX780 at 1080P resolution.
At 2560 x 1440, it will still be very good.

At a 4k resolution or triple 1080P perhaps not.

I would pass on the classified unless there is only a small price premium. It is designed for overclockers.
A EVGA GTX780 superclock will be pre-overclocked to a factory supported maximum level.

I mean, i really enjoy gaming, but i think 4K is way too much and completely out of my budget. And if i ever should think about upgrading to 2560 x 1440, i can still get a second GTX 780, right? I mean, SLI is pretty decently balanced nowadays.
And what card should i get? The EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Classified or another one?

Easily. And if I were you, I'd save some bucks and buy the MSI version of that card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127754
As good as the EVGA but $80 cheaper

Im from Germany, and i propably wont be able to buy from Newegg.com. And germany's main online-pc-shop has both cards for a 10€ difference, the MSI being 529€ and the EVGA being 539€.

I'd go for that one, the others aren't worth the extra money

I did get the Inno3D iChill GeForce GTX 780 HerculeZ X3 Ultra now, which is like 500€, and has, according to some benchmarks, about the same performance as the GTX 780 Ti reference cards, which are like 650€.
I'll see tomorrow, if this is true and how it will work out.
Thank you all for your help. Appreciate it!

Save yourself a bit of money.
A GTX780, even the cheapest one will run a 2560 x 1440 monitor with no problem at all.
Fancy fan coolers might look great, but do you really get any important value from them?
I prefer cards with stock direct exhaust double slot coolers.
They get the hot vga air directly out the back of the case.
Other aftermarket coolers do a good job of cooling the vga chip in an open testbed.
But in a case, they just dump hot air back into the case where case cooling has to deal with it.
That heats up both the graphics card AND the cpu.

Since you seem to have availability of EVGA, look at one of their superclock cards with a titan cooler.
The price premium over a stock GTX780 is small, and the superclock puts the card in the titan performance class.
Mine runs even a 2560 x 1600 monitor well.
