I'm looking to make an upgrade to an older Asus V3 series desktop.
Main reasons for upgrading:
- Boot & general use is too slow
- Photoshop work is too slow for editing
It's been difficult to get clear on the specifications from the Asus website. Current known info:
- E8500 processor
- 4Gb DDR2 (3.5Gb in Windows XP 32bit)
- 1Tb SATA drive
I think there are a few options, lower cost and higher cost but I'd welcome advice.
Many thanks.
Lower cost
Upgrade to include SanDisk Ultra Plus SSD 64Gb as a boot disk
c£50
Medium cost - £325
i3-4130 processor - c£90
MB / RAM - c£100
Case + PSU - c£60
Windows 8 - c£75
Rebuild - £425
E3-1230 V3 processor - £190
MB - c£50
8Gb RAM - c£50
Plus case and PSU - c£60
Windows 8 - c£75
Reusing hard disk.
