Hey guys

Overclocked my new FX-6300 from 3.5Ghz to 4.4Ghz on 1.398 volts.

Ran Prime95 CPU torture for 3 hours without any error and the CPU not going above 52c-53c (48c when using the Fan behind the motherboard).

Is this all ok?

Much greetings,
Mike

(Turned off all energy-saving programs, except Cool 'N Quiet after 'successful' OC)

Hi there,

The VRM's got QUITE hot (couldn't lay my finger on it for more then 3 seconds).
When using a fan behind the mobo however, it came quite a lot cooler (the other side is very good cooled, positive airflow - with filters etc). So going to make a modification to my case to make room for the fan without having to hold it :p

How much heat can it tolerate? (Mobo is Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0)

Thanks again,
Mike

Hi there,

I am using the DeepCool NepTwin (the temperatures of 52c were because it was about 28c in my room) I did the test again & now it's -1 in my room, the temps are then average 10c-15c less).

Most likely :p
But I think I'd rather stay on the safe side, no need damaging the CPU when I can run Crysis on Ultra!

Thanks a lot man, assured me there is no danger!
Mike
