Hi
Ive just built my new pc and installed windows 8.1 on it.
however whenever I come to sleep it, I can choose the sleep option, but all it does is act like its going into sleep mode (PC screen goes black) then it just turns itself back on?
There are no USB's plugged in except my wireless keyboard and mouse.
Is it possibly a driver problem? or a program stopping it from sleeping?
Any suggestions would be brilliant
Thanks

Solution
Typically it's because it's waking from the network adapter. You can go to device manager, right click it and under power management uncheck an option that says "allow this device to wake the computer."

You can check what other devices can wake it by opening an elevated cmd prompt and type:
powercfg -devicequery wake_armed

Thanks, I ran the the list. and it was the cheap replacement keyboard I put in this laptop that was waking it back up.
powercfg /DEVICEDISABLEWAKE "Standard PS/2 Keyboard"
did the trick.

MadushPerera:
That application's a virus. Changed my homepage to a porn site and installed 6 different spyware/adware programs and then blocked all my Google, Bing and Yahoo search results with Trovi. I may need to reformat my harddrive thanks to that link you provided You should be ashamed of yourself.
I finally found the solution is to disable the IPV6 on your Ethernet device.

Change your home group to something that does not exist in your network or any other pc that connected to same router. By default all home group computers are set to WORKGROUP. Change it to your name and reboot. The pc should go in to sleep now, this happens because windows 8.1 has home network big.

I went to the network card options and unchecked wake option. It's in the power tab. It's in Device manager. Then I went to the controll panel, then option troubleshooting. When in troubleshooting, select show all, on the top left. Then choose power option. Then have Windows fix automatically. Reboot. My Sleep is now working properly!
