Hey guys so I'm thinking about saving up and making some upgrades to my pc and I am just looking for some ideas of what I should upgrade. With my current setup I can still play games pretty smoothly and for the most part on max settings but there is some new games that I'm starting to have to lower my settings and with the arrival of next gen consoles games are going to become more demanding so I dont see my rig holding up in the future.

Current Specs:
AMD Radeon 5870
Intel Core i7 920
6GB DDR3 RAM
500GB Hard Drive
Windows 7 64bit

I suggest you upgrade your GPU and processor, first you should upgrade your CPU that way there isn't any bottleneck.

The better LGA 1366 processors are hardly worth upgrading to.

You're better off with a new graphics card.

That will depend on your budget and PSU.

Your 5870 has a TDP of 188W if it's the 1GB version, or 228W if it's the 2GB version.

That's good. I suggest a PSU of 550W or better.
