Hello, I'm looking to start streaming on Twitch.tv and I would like to know:
which is the cheapest CPU that can stream in 720p @60FPS?

Also, will I need an aftermarket CPU cooler or will the stock cooler suffice?

Keep in mind that I have no plans to overclock and I will only be streaming games such as League Of Legends and SC2 at the lowest possible graphical settings.

Solution
My FX-6300 is usually pretty good for streaming at 1080p so I'm sure it would be perfect for 720p. I would definitely go aftermarket cooling with it though, FX series processors run pretty warm.

Thank you very much for the help. I had no idea that AMD CPUs were so inexpensive! That being said, I wouldn't mind spending some extra money for performance.

Right now I'm looking at the FX-4130. Would that be a suitable CPU for my needs? Streaming in 720p at 60fps while maintaining decent fps in-game?

You need a video card to go along with any FX series cpu. Also, don't get any FX cpu from the Bulldozer family - FX 41xx, 61xx, or 81xx. The Piledriver family is much much better - FX 43xx, 63xx, and 83xx.

You could also look at the AMD A8 or A10. The A10-6800k can game at 720p and would be overkill for streaming. I have one and it's great.

Ah, I should've mentioned that I'm not too interested in APUs. I will be buying a video card.

As for cooling would something like a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo suffice or should I spring for a water cooler such as a Corsair H80i?
