Hey people,

I have a huge problem with my new graphics card.

I know that Minecraft is not a graphically intensive game, however I can only get it to 25-35fps. (the average does not change when I change settings - up or down)

However I can run BF4 on high settings on 50-60fps constantly.

GPU: ASUS R9 270X DirectCU II TOP 2 GB
CPU: AMD Phenom x6 1055T
Mobo: ASUS M4N68T-M v2
Ram: 8gb DDR3 (no idea which brand)

I know that the rest of my system is outdated but if I can run BF4 with 60fps on high there is no reason why minecraft should have low fps.

Here is a link to the Minecraft Forums where they discussed what FPS a 270x should be getting:

Is it possible that Minecraft is using the CPU for the graphics?

Here is an ingame screenshot:

If VSync is on make sure that you have Max performance selected. If it's on balanced it will limit it to 30fps

Yeah I know that already :p
It probably has nothing to do with ingame settings.

Well I can tell you that it's not using the CPUs integrated GPU unless you didn't plug your monitor into your graphics card. Also make sure you have the latest drivers for it

I would like to suggest a mod called Optifine to you, it has advanced GPU configurations including 2xfar (extreme) render distance, better grass, HD Textur pack support, better skies ect. It will also make Minecraft play smoother

That's just because they are having troubles implementing the code for 1.7 since it's so much different
