Hi,
I been sitting at this issue for about 3 weeks now. Tried to just clone my HDD OS partition (to make a newly purchased ssd bootable, and cloned), but it failed each time.

I realized my HDD is a dynamic one....and as such I cant clone it...
I found some guides on dynamic to basic conversion, but some might erase my data.

Does anyone know a solution on how to clone that kind of a drive to a ssd?
I would like to end up using the old hdd (with its other partitions, and original C drive as a backup/storage, and use the copied/cloned C drive on my new ssd as a OS drive.

The new ssd is a samsung 840 EVo, I tried the included software, it failed since it cant clone dynamic drives, I tried Intel software, and the free miniTool Partition software, and some other "junk" such as Ease US but they all were useless...and wanted me to upgrade to a paid version..and I am uncertain they would work.

Thank you for any advice.

HI, thanks for the reply. I just saw that program couple minutes ago (browsed old toms threads)...I'll give it a shot...hopeful it allows for dynamic copies...although I did not see that mentioned it in the "features" list.

:) heh took me 2 weeks, on research, could not find a tool that would actually work...and still did not find one...making an image was the fastest way to do it...heh and had to spend more $$ on it since the samsung software that came with the ssd is very basic, and the samsung tech support was literally clueless...they literally did not know that their software does not support dynamic drives.... :-( I guess they had to learn it from me :-(
