I'm upgrading from a Q6600 quad cpu since I'm doing more video editing and other graphics now. I'm using Adobe CS6 Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and CAD. These will be the only programs used on this machine.
I've read that a i7 cpu would be much better than an i5 for editing. Are there specific cpus in that group that would be better cost/performance than others? I'm not looking for the absolute fastest as this will be a somewhat budget build, and will most likely be a huge improvement over what I have now.
Also suggestions on motherboard to go with cpu? I'll also be upping memory to 32g and adding two ssd drives.
