I have recently upgraded from a GTX 550ti to a GTX 760, the card itself is fine, runs perfectly once the PC has loaded, but for some reason when I boot my PC it sits on the Motherboard startup screen for about 40 seconds before it loads into Windows 8, my graphics cards drivers are up to date and ive tried reinstalling them and ive also tried using my 550ti and it boots fine with it. Ive done a little research an discovered it may be because i need to update my BIOS, my mobo is a Foxconn h61mxl-k, not the best but it does what ive needed it to do, but I was wondering if there is any other potential solutions because updating the BIOS can be risky. Thanks.

Yes, you need to flash the BIOS, try a youtube search for "Foxconn h61mxl-k BIOS flash tutorial". You also need a USB drive and your motherboard manual in case something goes awry.
