screen problem please help

my screen resolution is changing continuously my graphic card drivers are up to date and even my cpu drivers are up to date my monitor is viewsonic VA1703 wb and its resolution is 1440x900 except this resolution every other resolution is being displayed please help me fast

It has to do with the refresh rate the monitor works at with the resolution of 1440x900.

And it`s color mode.

Right click on the desktop
Click screen resolution.

Then click on advanced, and the list all modes tab.

In there you will see the set color bit setting and at least two values of 1440x 900.
There should be multiple Hz frequencys.
One of the settings will allow the image or resolution to be displayed on the monitor properly.

In order to use some resolutions you must have the right type of connection from the graphics card to the monitor to display the right resolution.

Because some can be split from example a 15 pin d sub to Dvi port.
And why the resolution does not appear.

A change in cable may be needed, and it`s connection type from the graphics card to the monitor.
