Hi everyone I am in the process of finalizing my new build and have decided that I am going to go with the Asus R9 280X DirectCU II as my video card. I would just like to know whether there would be a large FPS increase if I had to go for the Top version of this card, and also whether I could just OC the non-Top version as it has the same cooler. Thanks.

Top version:

Non-Top:

Links? Usually the "OC Edition" Or "Super Clocked" or even "Top Edition" doesn't give that much more FPS maybe around 5-15 if your lucky. The fields in helps in are probably Video-Editing, Photo Editing, and probably Bitcoin-Litecoin-Feathercoin Mining.

Thanks :)  out of interest.. would I be able to overclock it myself? or does it have to be 'unlocked'?

All cards are essentially unlocked, and overclockable the amount you can overclock them is different everytime. With these cards by the specs and reviews it seems like you can get a pretty decent overclock.

I'd definetely go with the Asus 280X DCU II its a silent but... deadly little beast. Well in that price range.... Here have a look at it:

Might be irrelevant but why not 770?
