try downloading kies from the official samsung site: http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP#none
dont connect your phone when kies is installing
restart your pc
plug in the phone. a notification should pop up on your phone saying "usb connected". touch it and then touch "connect usb storage" if you want to transfer data between the sd card and pc
