My keyboard doesn't work on start up now. It use to work perfectly before I started to dual boot windows 8.1 and windows 7. After the dual boot it worked fine as well, then out of nowhere it stop working. I can't choose which windows to run on start up. Can someone help me?

try diffrent usb ports. plug the keyboard in to usb 2.0 and if that does not work try plugging it in to usb 3.0

if that does not work, go into bios, click on "settings">"advanced">"USB configuration" and make sure that "usb controller" and "legacy USB support" are both enabled.

what do you use to dual boot? window 7 boot loader or windows 8 boot loader or something else?

once windows finishes booting does your mouse work?

I have exactly the same problem. I have win8 and 7 dualboot. Installed 8 first then win7. When booting from win7 loader everything was ok but when I restored win8 loader my usb keyboard and mouse don't work on win logon screen. I think maybe usb drivers where somehow tied to 7 loader and as 8 has overwritten it it cannot load them. On win8 everything is ok. Maybe I can put win7 usb drivers somewhere to efi partition? Any ideas?

If anyone else is having trouble if you have an MSI board download MSI's CLICK BIOS II and you can use the bios while windows is running. This is not the real solution. In CLICK BIOS II check in settings then Windows 8 configuration. Make sure that MSI fast boot is disabled. regular fast boot is fine as long as the USB Support is set to [Full Initial] and or the PS2 Devices Support is set to [Enabled] . I hope this helped!
